This beautiful vibrant piece has beautiful hand block printed Chrysanthemum flowers in a flowing repeat, sitting on a striking cobalt blue background.
Beautifully handmade by Indian artisans & finished off with the age old “kantha” stitch. Be it whatever look you are after, this throw can carry off that look for you, be it coastal, country style, rustic, bohemian or minimal…just depends how you style it & it would definitely be a hit with someone who loves florals. Well we also feel this throw can lend itself to a minimal look if paired with white all around. Inspired by textile designer Shakiras’ love for florals & Chrysanthemums in particular.
“Kantha work” is a family skill (an embroidery) passed on from mother to daughter, originating from the north eastern states in India, wherein old saris, dhotis & old cloth pieces are stitched together using the running stitch to make light weight quilts or throws. Thus each piece is totally unique & this embroidery renders a slightly crinkled or wavy effect to the original patchwork of materials.
Loose threads & some imperfections are characteristic of this type of handmade product. Please note the placement of the print on the shams might vary since it is cut out from an all over print of the bedspread.
